Pugs Pagara, Magsayo to see action in ‘Stars of the Future’

ALA Promotions will start 2016 with exciting matches featuring unbeaten super bantamweight Prince Albert Pagara and featherweight Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo in the event dubbed Stars of the Future on February 27 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City.

Pagara with professional boxing record of 25 wins and no losses will face International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr.

Sanchez has a 20-4-1 (win-loss-draw) record.

The 21-year old Pagara in his last fight defeated Nicaraguan southpaw William Gonzales through an impressive sixth round knockout to claim the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Youth Intercontinental title.

Sanchez, meanwhile, is a 24-year old Mexican southpaw boxer, who in his recent fight lost to Cesar Juarez via twelfth round unanimous decision in a WBO International title fight in June 2015.

In the other match, Magsayo will take on Mexican lightweight Eduardo Montoya.

Magsayo, 20, has a record of 12-0 including 10 knockouts while Montoya has a record of 17-4-1 with 13 knockouts.

Before the Cebu bout, Montoya is scheduled to fight Tony Luis for the World Boxing Council Latino Interim title on January 29 at the EY Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
