Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano has signed up with quite a surprising endorsement this week. He was launched as the newest face of anti-hair loss system Novuhair even with his full head of hair.
In the past, singer-songwriter Abby Asistio who suffers from auto-immune disorder alopecia areata (balding due to weak hair follicles), and weatherman/TV host Kim Atienza, who admits to thinning hair and a receding hairline, had been brand ambassadors for the line of shampoo and hair oil. But never a celebrity who, at 51 years old, still looks so young, because of a trim physique and his famously thick, wavy hair.
“What many people don’t know is that like all other men my age, I also once worried about thinning hair, from hair fall in the shower, and an actual observation from my hairstylist,” the OPM bigwig revealed on Tuesday. “My hairstylist told me to look for the product that [celebrity hair and makeup artist and fashion designer]Fanny Serrano was using—a product called Novuhair.”
His story happened a while before the company sought his endorsement, which was the very reason why Gary accepted their offer.
“I’m a user of the product, and I will continue to be so because hair loss runs in our family, too, even if it sometimes skips a generation. My brother and grandfather both lost their hair, but my dad still has a full head of hair at 87. I just wanted to make sure I take control of my symptoms, and I’ve noticed that I don’t shed as much hair as I did before, especially after toweling my hair dry.”
Asked to share what else keeps him youthful, apart from keeping his hair healthy, Gary rounded up his daily routine, “Besides this, it’s prayer, diet, and medication. God has truly lived up to his promise in my life, and as he says in Psalm 92:14 ‘I will keep you fruitful even in old age. Fresh and green’.”
