THE QUEZON City government opened the 4th Maginhawa Art and Food Hub Festival on Saturday in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Junior Chamber International Quezon City Capitol. The event was also in celebration of the Asean’s 50th anniversary and the 78th Quezon City founding anniversary. Activities included a parade, performances by the Quezon City Symphonic Band, art and photo exhibits, table-top gaming, street dancing and on-the-spot painting competitions. The food scene at Maginhawa Street began in 2010 and on October 11, 2014, the office of Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. organized the first Quezon City food festival as part of the celebration of Quezon City’s diamond jubilee. Later, the city council passed an ordinance to hold the food festival dubbed the “Maginhawa Art and Food Hub” every December.
