RESPONDING policemen from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Laloma Police Station 1 (PS-1) arrested a suspect for stabbing to death his own brother-in-law at their house in Bgy. Manresa, Quezon City on Monday.
QCPD acting District Director Sr. Supt Richard Albano identified the suspect as Rogelio Obona, 56-years-old, married, driver, native of and residing at No. 204 Biak na Bato St., Barangay Manresa, Quezon City.
Investigation showed that the suspect was having a drinking spree with the victim identified as Loreto Abrois Sr., 40, and two others when, for still unknown reasons, the suspect uttered invectives at the wife of the victim, Cecilia.
Loreto tried to pacify Obana but instead of calming down the suspect even hurled more invectives at the couple and ordered them to move out of his house.
When Loreto was about to go home, he was repeatedly stabbed by Obona in different parts of the body, causing his death.
Cecilia shouted for help and rushed her husband to Sta. Teresita Hospital where Loreto was declared dead at about 5:57 p.m. by Dra. Lucy Moncada.
Responding police from PS-1 arrested Obona inside his house and recovered the weapon used in the killing.
Investigators are now looking on reports that the suspect has a previous warrant of arrest while he will be charged with murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
