QC COUNCILOR DEFENDS WEARING OF VEST ORDINANCE

1

QUEZON City Councilor Ranulfo Ludovica on Wednesday defended the ordinance which requires motorcycle riders to wear vests printed with the motorcycle’s plate number, saying his proposal is the answer to the spate of lawlessness involving motorcycle riding men in the city. Ludovica was reacting to a rally staged by hundreds of motorcycle riders at the Quezon City Hall compound to protest the ordinance. Penalties are P1,000 and five hours of community service for first offense, P2,000 with six hours of community service for second offense and P5,000 or one year imprisonment or both at the discretion of the court.
