A drug suspect who resisted arrest was killed while 10 others were arrested during a raid conducted by the Batasan Police Station 6 led by its commander Supt. Lito Patay midnight Thursday at Area 6, Luzon Avenue, Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said Ariel Tabucuran alias “Aying,” 22, was included in the drug watch list of Station 6.
Reports showed that at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, a concerned citizen tipped off the police about an ongoing shabu session at the house of Harold Tarroza.
The Tactical Motorcycle Riders unit (TMR) led by Insp. Mario Pascual proceeded to the area to verify the report. However, Tabucuran fired at the policemen who fired back. He was rushed to the East Avenue Hospital but was declared dead at 1:44 a.m.
Meanwhile, the police arrested 10 persons, three of them women, inside Tarroza’s house after they were caught using shabu.
Scene of the Crime Operatives led by Chief Insp. Mary Grace Alvarez and investigators from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit recovered from the crime scene one Remington caliber .45 pistol, eight heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu, one sachet of dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the arrested suspects.
