• QC film commission puts up 8 short film grants


    Quezon City Film Development Commission (QCFDC) now sets the stage for a short film screenplay contest entitled QCX Shorts.

    The eight selected finalists for QCX Shorts will each receive a grant amounting to P100,000.

    The films generated for this competition will be also shown at the Quezon City International Film Festival (QCinema).

    QCFDC has initially announced the start of its full-length movie competition called, ‘Circle Competition for New Filmmakers (Circle Competition)’. The said program appropriates one million pesos each to eight new directors.

    Eight slots are up for grabs in the QCX Shorts category.

    The funding program, which is open to all Filipino citizens, only accepts new works of narrative fiction (instead of animation or short documentary).Final film output must not exceed the 20-minute total running time, including the opening and closing credits.

    Interested individuals must furnish QCFDC with a completed QCX Shorts entry form and a copy of the director’s profile. Also required are sample works in DVD format and the film synopsis and screenplay.

    Entries must be submitted to the following address: QCinema Secretariat, Unit 207, PM Apartments, #24 Matalino St., Barangay Central, Quezon City 1100. Deadline is March 28.
