During Monday’s news briefing, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said the event will gather opinions and learnings from the best leaders of the world, adding that “this is also one of the best ways to showcase our leadership in Quezon City and share the best practices implemented by our local government.” The Mayoral Forum on Human Mobility, Migration and Development is the annual gathering of mayors and city leaders serving to promote globally relevant policy dialogue, foster the exchange of experiences in governing migration and strategize on how to work collectively. Aside from Bautista, the confirmed speakers at the sessions include Joan Clos, Executive Director of UN Habitat III; Nikhil Sth, Executive Director of UNITAR; Vice Mayor of Surabaya, Indonesia Wishnu Sakti Buana; Senior Economist of the World Bank Sonia Plaza; and Magdy Martínez-Solimán, Assistant Administrator, UNDP; among others.
