QC local Comelec chief reminds voters to submit biometrics to vote in 2016

Quezon City’s Commission on Elections (Comelec) officer Jovencio Balanguit on Monday reminds voters to submit their biometrics  (fingerprints and photo) to able to vote in the national elections in 2016. Balanguit said many of the city voters still don’t have their biometrics taken or re-evaluated prompting the Comelec to offer an over a year of registration starting May 7 and would end on October 31, next year for all the voters to have an ample time to submit their biometrics or else they lose their rights to vote. “Those concerned (registered) voters will received notices from us [Comelec] that they need to submit themselves for biometrics taking otherwise they cannot vote.

Under the new law those without biometrics cannot votre in 2016,” Balanguit told The Manila Times.
