AROUND 20,000 to 25,000 vacancies will be offered during the Quezon City mega job fair at the City Hall on September 30. The city’s Public Employment Services Office (Peso) noted a high demand for call center agents, office and clerical positions, store crew and sales personnel, for local manpower pooling. For overseas employment, in demand are nurses, domestic helpers and skilled workers such as welders, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, engineers, forklift operators, painters, drivers, masons and factory workers. Mayor Herbert Bautista urged jobseekers to take advantage of the job fair that has attracted around 70 companies. QC-Peso has partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council in organizing the job fair.
