• QC mulls buying properties in Roxas District

THE Quezon City government is planning to purchase residential properties along Gumamela and Ilang-Ilang Streets, a danger zone in Roxas District, to ensure the safety and protection of the residents there, especially during heavy downpour. Elmo San Diego, chief of the city’s department of public order and safety, said the plan will benefit 80 to 100 families along Roxas District, which to date, has been considered as one of QC’s perennial flood-prone areas. He said these families are the same people being rescued and prioritized for evacuation during heavy rains every year.
