QC new mobile money program of paying property tax will ward fixers

Fixers at the Quezon City hall will be a nothing of the past when a project designed to provide efficient and convenient cash transfers will be made available next year. The project was formally launched yesterday by the Quezon City government and its partners the United States Agency for International Development, Globe Philippines and Bank of Philippine Islands. Dubbed as Scaling Innovations in Mobile Money project, Mayor Herbert Bautista said that the system will initially be in place in 2014 for the payment of real property tax dues, providing the tax payers with a convenient payment option to settle their obligations without being physically present at the city hall grounds 24 hours a day.
