A police officer died Wednesday night after trying to pacify the altercation of two fellow officers at the Eastwood Police Station 12.
According to the investigation of Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Police Officer 1 Rollsmith Ducusin and PO2 Teejay Valdez were arguing over their attendance at the police station.
A family member of one of the policemen said that previous misunderstandings between the two at times resulted in heated arguments.
Ducusin tried to record the quarrel in the police blotter.
Meanwhile, PO1 Donna Louise who went out from her office at the operations section saw
Ducusin and Valdez aiming their pistols at each other.
Two gunshots were heard. Ducusin was hit in the right arm, while Valdez was shot in the stomach.
Senior PO1 Arnel Fortez, who tried to intervene in the fight, sustained a gunshot wound in the neck. He died after he was rushed to Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
Meanwhile, Valdez was rushed to the Marikina Valley Medical Center after being transferred from Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
Ducusin, who was treated after suffering a minor injury, was detained at the QCPD CIDU in Camp Karingal.
