Two men caught in the act of sniffing shabu were shot dead by anti-drug operatives of the Quezon City police late Monday night.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said a concerned citizen tipped the police of an ongoing shabu session at a house in Barangay San Antonio.
Operatives sent by Supt. Igmedio Bernaldez to the area found a group of men sniffing shabu. Sensing the policemen, the two victims drew their guns and started firing, forcing the police officers to shoot back.
During the clearing operation, a man later identified as Severino Valentino was seen hiding in an adjacent room. Police recovered from him a plastic sachet of shabu. He will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002.
Also recovered as evidence were two .38 revolvers with ammunition, another plastic sachet of shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
Eleazar also on Tuesday announced the arrest of a notorious drug pusher and his five cohorts during a buy-bust conducted by operatives of the Special Operation Unit and Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group in Kabayanan, San Juan City.
Eleazar said Joselito Adrias, 48, supplies illegal drugs in barangays Valencia, N. Domingo and San Martin De Porres, all in Quezon City.
Adrias’ cohorts — Florente Otenida, Albert Anastacio, Wilbert Tatnes, and Jayme Marie Masilang were arrested while sniffing shabu.
