QUEZON City’s business tax collection for January hit over P2.7 billion, or P300 million more that collections for the same period last year. City Treasurer Edgar Villanueva reported to Mayor Herbert Bautista that as of February 10, the city’s business gross collections from January reached P2.783 billion or P328.9 million more that 2013’s P2,45 billion. He attributed the hike to the four easy steps that the Bautista administration implemented for business application and renewal for 2014. He also said that real property collection amounted to P97.322 million from January 2 to February 10, which declined due to delay in posting of payment in G-cash system, an electronic transaction thru mobile phones, now being implemented by the city government for real property tax payments.
