QC TO BUY AILING PRIVATE SCHOOL TO ADDRESS CLASSROOM SHORTAGE

The Quezon City government plans to buy ailing and financially distressed private schools in a bid to put an end to the city’s classroom shortage woes. Another option of Mayor Herbert Bautista is to explore the possibility of venturing to a public-private partnership with the concerned school owners where a lease-to-own scheme could be undertaken to facilitate the acquisition of their properties. “What the city government is doing is save the city of government money and address the problem of classroom congestion at the same time,” Bautista said.
