One of the oldest active associations, Quezon (Tayabas) Association Inc., celebrated its 92nd Founding Anniversary at the Grand Ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza on August 8. The annual event was attended once again by a huge number of prestigious men and women representing the different towns of Quezon province.
Themed “Pamana Ng Ating Lahi,” the celebration showcased Quezon’s unique and colorful ancestral heritage through the venue, which was transformed by Larry Natividad into the elegant 1960. In keeping with its local traditions, the venue also also promoted the best products of the province.
The event were led by the association’s “gentleman president” Danilo “Junjun” Suarez Jr. and “lady president” Maria Carina “Karrie” Lopez de Asis, whose priority projects include the rehabilitation of Quezon Medical Center Maternity Ward, among others.
The highlight of the night was the coronation of Marianna Suarez as Lakambini ng Quezon (Tayabas) Association 2015. She is the daughter of association president Junjun Suarez and wife Rowena.
No less than Vice President Jejomar Binay, Sen. Cynthia Villar, Rep. Aleta Suarez, former congressman Danilo Suarez, and Gov. David Suarez of Quezon were present to grace the event and crown this year’s muse.
Adding a melancholic yet joyful feel to the festivity was the presentation of The Grand Rigodon. Choreographed by Budjing Danao and Dalah Pia, the performance featured the officers, members, directors and advisers of the association who donned elegant ternos and barongs.
Kudos to the men and women of Quezon (Tayabas) Association Inc., as well as event coordinator Margot Esplana for a wonderful anniversary celebration.
Another mark of excellence in keeping up with tradition, preserving their heritage and promoting the best in every Filipino.
