Quezon City police: 75 years of service


Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista leads today the celebration of the 75th police service anniversary of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) at its headquarters in Camp Tomas Karingal in the city.

The National Capital Region (Metro Manila) Police Office (NCRPO) police director, Carmelo Valmoria, and the QCPD police director, Senior Supt. Joel Pagdilao, will assist Bautista in presenting awards and recognitions to policemen, units, government organizations and non-government organizations for outstanding achievements and contributions to the achievements of the plans and programs of the QCPD.

Leading the awardees is Police Sr. Supt. Procopio Lipana, deputy district director for administration, who was adjudged as Senior Police Commissioned Officer of the Year. Together with other awardees, Lipana will receive a perpetual Karingal Award for outstanding achievements in police administration.

Other activities in commemoration of the QCPD’s Diamond Jubilee include a Thanksgiving Mass to be officiated by Rev. Fr. Alex Pardo, a three-day Health Fair Care led by the QCPD Health Service, tree planting and Jubilee Fun Run.

The QCPD was established on November 25, 1939 by virtue of an Act of Congress with then-Mayor Tomas Morato as the first chief of the Quezon City Police Department.
