• Quezon gets two Galing Pook awards


    LUCENA CITY: Two of the Quezon’s health coupon and tree-planting programs initiated by Gov. David “Jay-Jay” Suarez were among this year’s Galing Pook awardees. The Lingap sa Kalusugan para sa Barangay or Health Coupon Program has benefited 162,081 residents since it was implemented in 2010. Quezon’s tree-planting program where 39,002 residents simultaneously planted 2.7 million mangroves in 221 hectares of coastline in the province was also cited. The Galing Pook Award recognizes innovation and excellence in local governance.
