Bringing about change, spearheaded by Food for the Hungry Philippines in partnership with the Alliance of Hospitality Educators and Practitioners of the Philippines (AHEPP). The initiative provisions to help families in need from the many different aspects of life. Truly an inspirational mission that urges people especially the youth to RUN. FAST. To RACE. RACE FOR CHANGE for all those created by God who needs assistance that is being provided by Food for the Hungry Philippines.

More than 2,000 runners mostly students have joined and support Race for Change 2013 last Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the CCP Complex, Liwasang Ulalim. The weather was great and almost all the event partners and supporters were there to give support.

Drawing inspiration from making a difference to alleviate poverty, Food for the Hungry Phils and AHEPP organized Race for Change 2013 to create awareness and engage of members of the academe and students from different universities for their social responsibility initiative.

The proceeds of the project will benefit the Livelihood and Feeding program of the under-privileged communities that Food for the Hungry Philippines currently serve.

AS written by HAZELLE JOYCE TAN & CHESTER ERWIN LUSUAN, two of Food for the Hungry Phils’ volunteers from College of St. Benilde….” Ignorance. A norm these days or a growing epidemic? For us, people who have been graced with stability and comfort in our homes yet had deprived us of a vaster vision of the reality that is happening in our country.

Most of us, especially the privileged class, had already seen documentaries, stories, and videos about our community; however, do we really understand or value the importance of these things? Caring and showing compassion upon watching this is one thing. But taking action is another. It is a step towards respectability and fruition with regards to people’s lives.

Certain round of applause seems in order for the hardworking souls living in poverty. However, figuratively what can we give to these people?”
