The Elasto Painters came out with aggression, displaying in the opening quarter a strong performance resulting in an early 29-22 lead.

Rain or Shine sustained their offense in the second period to stretch their advantage to as much as 18 points at the 3:59 minute mark following a breakaway slam by center Raymond Almazan.

The shooting prowess of ROS was also evident before halftime with import Antoine Wright sinking all of his two attempts from beyond the arc to steer his team to a 58-43 edge at the break.

After the mid-game intermission, the Road Warriors pushed hard to catch up through the efforts of the frontcourt trio of Sean Anthony, Asi Taulava and Al Thornton, but the Elasto Painters foiled their attacks.

Despite a buzzer-beating trifecta by Garvo Lanete in the third quarter, NLEX was still down by 15 points, 85-70, going into the final 12 minutes of action.

The men of coach Yeng Guiao opened the fourth quarter on a high note following a flawless layup by Jewel Ponferada to extend their lead to 94-74 with less than 10 minutes left in regulation.

“We finally got our game back. I hope its not to late. We got our running game back. We got our defense back.” Rain or Shine head coach Guiao said during the post-game interview.

“We achieved our objective. We will prepare for the next game. The news is Paul [Lee] will be back for our next game,” he concluded.
