A Thai criminal court on Monday night issued an arrest warrant on charges of sedition for the leader of the anti-government protests in the capital Bangkok, in which three people have been killed and more than 160 injured over the last three days.

According to police, Suthep Thaugsuban has violated the law by inciting people to disrupt peace and order in the country, telling protesters to occupy government buildings including the Government House in Bangkok.
