Rape fugitive falls in Surigao

A 49-year-old man, who is facing three counts of rape charges, was arrested on Thursday by police operatives following a manhunt operation in a suburban village in Surigao City, a police official said on Friday. Caraga Police spokesman, Supt. Martin Gamba, identified the suspect as Richard Navarro Yambao and a resident of Silay Hills, Espina Extension in Barangay Taft in Surigao City. Gamba said that Yambao was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for three counts of rape issued by Judge Cesar Bordalba of the 10th Judicial Region, Branch 30 of Surigao City. Yambao is listed as the 8th Most Wanted Person in Surigao City and is temporarily in the custody of Surigao City Police Station prior to his turn over to the court that issued the warrant of arrest against him.
