Razon surrenders, PNP ready to arrest him

The Philippine National Police (PNP) received on Wednesday afternoon a copy of warrant of arrest issued by the Sandiganbayan against former police chief Avelino Razon and 32 others on graft and malversation charges.
Earlier in the day, Razon surrendered to the Sandiganbayan.

The arrest order with no bail recommended stemmed from a implicating Razon to the questionable repair in 2007 of more than a dozen PNP Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) worth P400 million.
PNP Public Information chief Sr. Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac said they will immediately serve the warrant of arrest against Razon  and the other police officials and employees.
“We will be obliged to implement the provisions of the warrant as law enforcers,” Sindac told reporters in Camp Crame.
