LUCENA CITY: Fifty elementary pupils benefited from a reading project dubbed “Makinig Kayo, may Kuwento si Ma’am, may Kuwento si Sir” launched by the Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP)-Lucena Chapter at SM City. RAP-Lucena founder Dr. Amelita Balagtas said the project aims to teach children the importance and enjoyment of reading books and magazines in the traditional sense – by turning the pages, not swiping through touch-screen gadgets. The Rotary Club of Lucena Circle headed Janet Tan Briones supported the program which will be held monthly with different children coming from various schools as beneficiaries.
