A SUSPECTED Communist rebel was killed and a militiaman was wounded after fighting broke-out between government troops and New People’s Army (NPA) rebels early Saturday morning in a remote village in Laak town in Composela Valley.
Major Michael Angelo Candole, executive officer of the Philippine Army’s 60th Infantry Battalion (IB), said in a report sent to Camp Aguinaldo in Manila that the encounter took place at about 7 a.m. in Barangay Datu Ampatuan in Laak town.
