Suspected rebels blasted a steel pylon in the southern Philippines and resulting to a power failure in several areas in the restive region where security forces are fighting terrorism and rebellion.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the weekend attack, but the military suspect rebels were behind the blast in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao province.
