COMMUNIST rebels freed on Friday morning two soldiers it had taken captive in August this year. Major Ezra Balagtey, public information chief of the Philippine Army’s Eastern Mindanao Command, identified the duo as Private First Class Jerrel Yorong and Mamel Cinches. Both were taken to the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City for medical check-up and debriefing. Yorong and Cinches were captured while conducting security patrol in the boundaries of Barangays Bacnotan and Halapitan, San Fernando town, Bukidnon. They were among those deployed following reports that rebels were to attack a road construction project in a nearby village.
