Field of Hope, a non-profit organization that aims to promote education and development among the youth through football, organized football games to help uplift the children from Yolanda-stricken areas in Cebu.

Held from May 6 to 7 in Bantayan Island, the games hosted young players aged 8 to 14 in an open-for-all beach football tournament with DHL, the world’s leading Logistics Company, as a major sponsor.

Aside from helping children recover from post-traumatic stress caused by Super Typhoon Yolanda, the event also aims to help sustain social and human development activities working with football in the areas of health promotion, peace building, social integration, education and the environment.

Celebrating unity through diversity, the event gathered young players from Cebu to share their love for football and apply principles of discipline, proper nutrition, hard work, persistence and patience.
