THE President’s deputy spokesman failed to vote on Monday because of an apparent mix-up in the election records.
Abigail Valte said her name was not in the list of voters in her precinct in Makati City.
“I went to the precinct, the PPCRV [Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting] table, the Comelec [Commission on Elections] table in the polling place and the Comelec office in Makati. My name’s not on the list, not in the computer,” she posted in her Twitter account.
“I wasn’t able to vote. I can only reactivate when Comelec calls for it,” she added.
Valte said she registered in 2009 and voted in 2010.
The Comelec explained that she was not enrolled in the poll body’s biometric system. It said her voter registration was deactivated because according to the records, she failed to vote in two consecutive elections.
” Record says I didn’t vote in two consecutive elections but I voted in 2010. How can that be?!,” she said.
“Comelec official showed me the list from 2010 and it didn’t have my thumb print or signature. Impossible that I didn’t sign it then,” she added
