A leader of a religious group was shot to death early Tuesday evening by unidentified motorcycle riding gunman at a wharf in a remote coastal village in Gatafe in Bohol province, police reports said on Thursday.
Reports at the Philippine National Police (PNP) national operations center in Camp Crame identified the shooting victim as Honorio “Tisoy” Baculao alias “Norvik Baculao”, 57 and president of the ‘God the Father’, a religious group based in Padanon town, Bohol.
The reports said that the shooting incident occurred at about 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gatafe Wharf located at Sitio Mahayhay, Poblacion of the said municipality.
Investigation revealed that Baculao and his group were busy loading some of their belongings to a waiting pump boat when the gunman appeared. Reports added that the gunman quietly approached the victim and shot him in the head and killing him instantly. It added that the suspect immediately boarded his motorcycle and fled the scene.
Elements of the Gatafe Municipal Police station are still investigating the said incident. Anthony Vargas
