BALANGA City: Replica of giant cooking clay jars, locally known as balanga, became noticeable in front of big business establishments at the entrance of Balanga City from the MacArthur Highway as workers undertook finishing touches on Sunday. On top of each of the jar-looking design is also a reproduction of white migratory birds that visit the city from September to end of March every year. Thousands of different species of waterbirds escaping the cold winter months in Asia and Europe feed on dry fishponds, marshes and even ricelands not only in Balanga but in other surrounding communities. The jars that sit on bamboo-designed support are located near the site of the company along the national road. Aside from Balanga City, the name of the business entity is painted on each of the jar.
