RESIDENTS of a government housing site in Rizal, which an urban poor group tried to occupy on Wednesday, vowed to fight back if they returned and adopted measures to secure the area.
In a meeting between the homeowners’ association and officials, led by Senior Supt. Lou Frias Evangelista, Rizal provincial director; the National Housing Authority (NHA), and site developers, each family agreed to contribute P1,000 for a fence around the site, conduct regular patrols at night, and requested troops to stay “indefinitely” in case members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) came back.
