PLUS: Marian to do special episode of ‘Tadhana’ under hubby Dingdong’s direction
A very sexy Rhian Ramos attended the first Entertainment Editors Movie Awards, or Eddys, at the Kia Theater on Sunday night. Beautiful as ever, she definitely turned heads in a daring avant garde number that oozed with sophistication as her fashion picks always do.
A Best Actress nominee for “Saving Sally,” members of the press who came to cover the glitzy event mounted by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors, gave Rhian the thumbs up as she walked the red carpet. They teased her too that she was living up to her No. 3 spot in this year’s FHM Sexiest.
“Actually, wala nang mas surprised pa sa akin when I placed No. 3!” she laughed good. naturedly. “Although I don’t always feel sexy, it was more of a reminder for me that there were people who worked hard to put me on that spot.”
Even before she wowed The Eddys, many netizens had already taken notice of Rhian’s sexy photos on her social media accounts, her beach shots especially.
“To be honest, I’m not choosy how much skin is involved in my photos, but I’m choosy about what the picture implies—what message it’s trying to convey. I don’t mind posting photos of myself at the beach. So depende siya sa context for me.
“And I’m really not bothered about my body anymore. Parang being 26 already makes me feel tanggap ko na sa sarili ko. I know what I have and what I don’t have but I’m happy with what I have,” she added sensibly.
Prodded what her non-showbiz boyfriend has to about the sexy pictures she posts, Rhian easily replied, “It’s a non-issue for him. That’s what I like about him. He is so broad-minded. We actually don’t fight. He’s also very quiet and very private. He doesn’t come with me to my showbiz commitments unless I ask him to accompany me like The Eddys.”
Happy in her personal life, Rhian was excited to share that she is taking on brand new challenge in her career.
“It’s a mini-concert!” she revealed. “I want to try something new and show another facet of me. Siguro I’m just more adventurous nowadays. I used to have a fear of live crowds so I don’t want to sing or dance before an audience but I’m trying to break that fear now.”
And break it she will beautifully for sure, what with Rhian truly grown up now both mindset and outlook in life.

Because GMA’s Saturday afternoon anthology “Tadhana” has stayed on top of the ratings game, Marian Rivera’s contract as host has been renewed for a second season. The Kapuso Primetime Queen is, of course, ecstatic over the success her show is enjoying.
Marian humbly refuses to take all the credit for Tadhana. She said, “The high ratings and good feedback is because everyone involved in the show is working hard. It’s really a team effort. Add to this the very good stories that we feature every episode. Our researchers don’t stop looking for stories that are not only good but unique. Yung may mga kakaibang twist that really makes the story very interesting.”
The episodes of Tadhana come from true-to-life experiences of OFWs from different countries. With the show’s popularity, relatives of OFWs in fact have volunteered their stories or their relatives’ for feature.
“We are so happy that these OFWs and their loved ones see Tadhana as the show they can entrust their stories to. This is also why at the end of every episode, I always say that they can get in touch with us if they want their stories featured.”
Finally, for an episode in August, Marian will give into requests from viewers to see her acting besides hosting. As such, she will give life to a character in an intriguing yet poignant story of an OFW.
“I cannot give details yet but we’ve already chosen the story. The character is somebody I can relate with because she is a mother like me. Ang daming nangyari sa kanya, ang daming sacrifices, a lot of pain, but in the end, the viewers will be overwhelmed sa mangyayari sa kanya,” Yan hinted.
The most exciting part for Yan, however, is that her director for the special episode will be none other than her husband, Dingdong Dantes.
“Basta siya ang nag-commit. Birthday episode ko kasi yun. Parang it’s one of his gifts for me. Siyempre ako naman kinikilig. I mean, he’s in the thick of preparation for the new season of Alyas Robinhood but he thought of directing an episode in my show. I will definitely let you know the details of the episode and I want you to be present at the taping,” Yan invited Showbuzz.
Since she has signed up for another season of Tadhana, Marian will be having busy days ahead. Besides the show, she has also started taping for her new primetime series, whose working title, “The Good Teacher,” might be changed.
“We want to excite our young viewers with series. As I have said, this is the one na magugustuhan ng mga bata. Even my look here is different and I’m so excited about this talaga. The kids and the young at heart will definitely have something to look forward to on primetime.”

If Marian is busy, so is hubby Dingdong. He has finished the story conference for the second season of his hit primetime series “Alyas Robinhood” and taping is scheduled to start next week. Like Marian, Dingdong can’t contain his excitement either, especially since Pepe, his character in the show, is one of his favorites.
“I really enjoy playing the role because Pepe is a thinking character,” he explained.
Present at the story con were all the cast members, comprised of sexy Kapuso actress Andrea Torres who retains her role as Venus; Solenn Heusaff who is one of the new additions; Ruru Madrid who will portray Pepe’s brother; and Jaclyn Jose, Paolo Contis, Gary Estrada, Rey PJ Avellana, Dave Bornea, Lindsay De Vera and Rob Moya.
It was very obvious that the Season 1 actors missed one another as they chatted about their personal lives and careers. In fact, it took a while before storycon began because the catching up went on and on!
“I really missed everything about Alyas Robinhood,” Dingdong admitted. “I missed my co-stars and I missed the creative people who constantly brainstorm to make the story more exciting. Of course, I missed Pepe’s character–everything he fights for, his struggles, his problems. So lahat yan, mae-encounter ulit dito sa Season 2.”
He noted how the first season lacked an actual resolution.
“Bitin and may mga problems na hindi na-resolve. This season that’s what we’re doing. We’ll give closure to all those loose ends in the story. Of course, new conflicts will arise as new characters enter the scene, and it makes the story more exciting. Sa start pa lang ng Season 2, intriguing na kaagad. They kidnapped my mother so ibang usapan na ‘yun dahil nanay na ni Pepe ‘yun.”
A source from the production said that viewers should watch out for the fight scenes. Pepe will show his expertise fighting techniques too.
“Hindi lang si Pepe actually. Si Ruru, marami ring fight scenes where he will employ yung iba namang klase ng pakikipaglaban. Kung may pana si Pepe, may ibang armas naman si Ruru,” the Showbuzz source added.
