The Gokongwei-led property firm Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) will grow the number of its malls this month by 37 with the opening of two malls across the country.
“RLC continues to strengthen its presence in the Visayas-Mindanao regions where it now operates 11 shopping malls, while the property firm now owns seven shopping malls in Northern Luzon,” said Arlene Magtibay, RLC senior vice president and general manager for Commercial Centers Division.
For this month alone, the listed property firm will be opening Robinsons Place Roxas and Robinsons Place Santiago, two full service malls within the Visayas region and Northern Luzon, respectively.
These two malls will expand RLC’s commercial chain to a total of 37 shopping centers nationwide.
Robinsons Roxas mall will open on February 13, while the Robinsons Santiago mall will open on February 19.
The two-level Roxas mall will have a gross floor area (GFA) of 37,400 square meters and a gross leasable area (GLA) of over 23,000 square meters.
Robinsons Santiago, on the other hand, will have three floors with GFA of approximately 40,000 square meters and GLA of approximately 26,000 square meters.
“Even before they have opened their doors to the public, we are happy to announce that both malls are already 99 percent leased out due to strong interest from both local and nationwide retailers and restaurant chains,” Magtibay further said.
The Robinsons Roxas mall will be part of a 300-hectare mixed-use development in Panay, Pueblo de Panay.
Late last year, RLC has opened Robinsons Place opened its fourth mall in Mindanao, bringing the total number of its mall nationwide to 33.
Located in the Carraga region, Robinsons Place Butuan is a three-level development that includes a branch of RLC’s Go Hotel, which will have 102 rooms.
Two more shopping malls, Robinsons Place Malolos and Robinsons Town Mall Malabon, also opened in the fourth quarter of 2013.
