Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and his Canadian adviser Mike Koncz arrived in General Santos on Sunday from Macau, China, to oversee the Filipino ring icon’s training for his rematch against Timothy Bradley on April 12, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Manny [Pacquiao] is more motivated now and he concentrates well on every detail of his training. He is getting better and better everyday,” Koncz told The Manila Times in a phone interview. “Roach is happy when he saw Pacquiao’s current condition in their first training together here.”
Koncz added that he is expecting a different outcome in Pacquiao’s rematch with the undefeated Bradley although he did not specify if it would be a unanimous decision win or a knockout victory by the Filipino.
“I don’t make any prediction, but Freddie [Roach] is doing a lot of great things now in their training. He really wanted Manny to cut Bradley into tiny pieces and make space little for Bradley. Aggressiveness, good stamina and power are what we need and we have those things.”
Bradley is a technically skilled boxer but with lesser stopping power and aggressiveness than Pacquiao. Bradley won his fights against Russian Ruslan Provodnikov and Juan Manuel Marquez via unanimous decision last year.
Roach, according to Koncz, is so confident that Pacquiao would catch Bradley and knock him out in their second meeting.
