Expect heavy traffic this weekend in some major portions of Quezon City.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), this is due to the road repairs and re-blocking being conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The MMDA said road reblocking works will be conducted starting Friday night (October 17) at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. of Monday (October 20).
In its advisory, the MMDA said DPWH will undertake road reblocking and repairs on the following areas:
•Along Avenue from Maria Clara Street to Quezon Avenue, 2nd lane
•Along Fairview Avenue from Fairlane Street to Camaro Street, 2nd lane
•Along Mindanao Avenue (2nd lane)
•Along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue/C-5 between Mercury Avenue and Richmond Avenue (2nd lane)
In North bound
•Along C.P. Garcia Avenue, Quezon City, University Avenue to Maginhawa Street (2nd lane)
In west bound and east bound
•Along Congressional Avenue (westbound and eastbound)
•Along Congressional Avenue Extension (2nd lane, eastbound and westbound)
According to Neomi Recio, head of the MMDA Traffic Engineering Center, the areas are recommended by DPWH – National Capital Region Director Reynaldo Tagudando.
To avoid traffic delays, the MMDA advised motorists to use alternate routes.
It added that all roads will be fully passable by Monday morning. PNA
