Expect heavy traffic this weekend in some portions of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in the cities of Quezon, Mandaluyong and Makati.
This, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), is due to the road repairs and re-blocking being conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The MMDA said road reblocking works will be conducted starting Friday (May 9) at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. of Monday (May 12).
In its advisory, the MMDA said DPWH will undertake road reblocking and repairs on the following areas :
In Quezon City:- along EDSA between Quezon Avenue and Landmark, Trinoma (third lane northbound)- along Visayas Avenue between Road 1 and Quezon Avenue (center lane)
In Mandaluyong City:- along EDSA between Temple Drive and United St. (northbound)
In Makati City:- along South Superhighway all under existing flyover from Magallanes to Arnaiz (southbound and northbound)
To avoid traffic delays, the MMDA advised motorists to use alternate routes
It added that all roads will be fully passable by Monday morning. PNA
