Robbers kill money transfer shop guard

A gang of robbers shot and killed the security guard of a branch of the Western Union in Parañaque City on Sunday.

The guard, Felipe Montilla, was shot by one of the three men who robbed the Western Union branch at the corner of Dr. A. Santos Avenue and Lopez Street in Barangay San Isidro at 8 a.m.

Police said the branch had just opened when the three suspects barged in.

After shooting the guard and taking the shop’s cash box, the group escaped towards the South Luzon Expressway Sucat exit on a motorcycle.

The branch staffers said the cash box was empty.

It was the second time the Western Union branch was robbed.

On January 29, six robbers struck at the same money transfer shop and made off with P60,000 in cash.
