• Robredo to attend first Cabinet meeting

Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo will attend her first Cabinet meeting to be led by President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, July 11.

Georgina Hernandez, the spokesman for Robredo, confirmed the Vice President’s attendance in a statement on Sunday or three days after the Vice President was named the head of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).

“Vice President Leni’s schedule for Monday has been cleared for her to be able to attend the Cabinet meeting,” Hernandez said.

Robredo had an initial meeting with HUDCC officials last Friday night.

“She was given a packet of documents to study and prepare for her first Cabinet meeting,” Hernandez said.

In a news conference also last Friday, Robredo said she is up to the challenge of addressing at least 1.4 million government-housing backlog in the country, as well as the expected additional requirement of 5.5 million houses in the coming years.

“This is also an opportunity for her to be an active partner of the Duterte administration. Since it is her first meeting, her initial aim is to get up to speed with the policy and work priorities of the administration,” Hernandez said.

“She is also looking forward to get to know and work with the other Cabinet members,” she added.

President Duterte earlier said he cannot name her to a Cabinet post because he does not want to hurt the feelings of defeated vice presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Robredo, however, was named the HUDCC chairman, an appointment that was relayed to her by the President himself in a phone call, even addressing her “Ma’am.”

Prior to the phone call, the Vice President had paid a courtesy call to the President, who assured Robredo that she would be an active part of the administration.

A legitimate Vice-President was finally given a cabinet post and the whole country will benefit from her talent, hard work, and integrity. Marcos was able to brainwashed thousands of not so bright Filipino people making them believe that he was cheated during the election. Up to this date, Bongbong still believe that he was shafted by his good friend Noynoy. Bongbong, you lost the election, get over with and move on!

      • A system audit will prove or disprove the allegations of cheating but Comelec refuses to conduct the audit.

Comelec also let smartmatic employees leave the country after a travel ban was suggested and the chair of Comelec and Smartmatic said it was not needed and they would stay in country. Of course now at least one of those suspected of the cheating has fled the country.

    2. Robredo is not the legit vice president she is only there via cheating and Comelec refusing to conduct a system audit.

This is what we are waiting for after a long awaited abeyance due to hesitation in giving leni a cabinet post by the president but all ends well and good for the sake of our country.
