CLARK FIELD, Pampanga: Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo will be bidding for votes in vote-rich Regions 3, 4 and the National Capital Region (NCR or Metro Manila) that could be her winning margin in the May 9 elections.
This search was prompted by Robredo topping a face-to-face survey for the first time conducted by the Social Weather Stations wherein she scored 26 percent, barely beating Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who rated 25 percent. Sen. Francis Escudero, the early frontrunner, has dropped to 18 percent.
“We are looking at two scenarios here: Our weak points that could be turned into opportunity. Region 3, Region 4, NCR…I see these as opportunities. We just need more presence in these areas,” Robredo said on Monday.
Region 3 or Central Luzon has six million voters, while Region 4 or Calabarzon Region is the region that has the largest voting population in the country with 7.6 million voters.
The NCR, on the other hand, has the second-largest voting population with 6.2 million voters.
Robredo, however, clarified that she will still have to make a return stop to her stronghold–Bicol Region–as well as to the Visayas where she is the strongest.
“We will still be going back to these areas given the opportunity,” she said.
