RIO DE JANEIRO: Spanish third seed Tommy Robredo tumbled out of the Rio Open on Wednesday, losing his second-round meeting with Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer in straight sets.
Robredo won just five games as his rival scored a 6-3, 6-2 win in 68min aided by early breaks in both sets to advance to a last eight meeting with either home hope Joao Souza or Slovenian Blaz Rola.
