NEW YORK: Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson was suspended for three games by the NBA on Thursday (Friday in Manila) for a California drunk-driving incident. Lawson’s latest suspension is for a driving under the influence charge in July and begins with Thursday’s game against the Utah Jazz. It’s the second driving under the influence-related suspension in two months for Lawson, who was also suspended for two games last month after a similar charge in Denver in January of 2015. At that time Lawson was playing for the Nuggets. In November, Lawson pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in the Denver case, and additional charges of speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving were dropped.
