ROLEX will be the title sponsor of the opening race of the 2016 Formula One season on March 18 to 21 in Australia, according to a report posted at F1.com.
Rolex SA Communication and Image Director Arnaud Boetsch said Rolex is delighted to extend its association with this leading global sporting event for the fourth consecutive year.
“Our unique partnership with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix is the culmination of the brand’s history of close ties with the exciting world of motor sport and speed. Now launching our fourth season with Formula 1, we share a passion for performance, precision and innovation, founded on our pursuit of excellence in technology,” he said.
For his part, Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One group chief executive officer, said he is delighted that Rolex is the title sponsor for a fourth consecutive year.
“Rolex is an integral part of the Formula 1 family and for three wonderful years Rolex has supported the Formula One Australian Grand Prix,” Ecclestone said.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chairman John Harnden said he is very proud of F1’s association with Rolex, citing the watchmaker is recognized as one of the most prestigious names in the industry and a long-standing supporter of motor sports.
“With the Rolex clock ticking down to the 2016 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, we are very proud to build on our strong relationship with Rolex, ensuring not only a world-class Formula One season opener, but an unforgettable event for our fans,” he said.
