Rosario emerges as PH’s best 3-on-3 player


Talk ‘N Text rookie Jeth Troy Rosario has been named as the country’s best 3-on-3 player based on the world ranking released by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The 23-year old Rosario obtained 315,900 ranking points after playing 23 games to become the Philippines’ top player.

He is ranked 74th in the world.

Rosario’s Manila North teammates Alaska Aces’ Calvin Abueva and Vic Manuel and Kia Carnivals’ Karl Dehesa ranked second, third, and fourth in the country, respectively.

Abueva clinched the 80th spot in the world while Manuel took the 83rd place and Dehesa the 87th.

During the 2015 FIBA 3+3 World Tour held in Abu Dhabi, the Manila North squad finished sixth after losing to NoviSad AlWahda of the United Arab Emirates in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, the Philippines earned a spot in the 2016 FIBA 3+3 World Championships which will be held on October 11 to 15 this year in Guangzhou, China.

Besides the Philippines, Cook Islands and the United Arab Emirates will also debut in the 3-on-3 World Championships.

The other participating countries in the FIBA 3×3 World Championships are Andorra, Brazil, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United States, Argentina, Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Israel and Spain, Tunisia.
