Rotational brownout implemented in Mindanao

The National Grid Power Corporation of the Philippines announced that as of 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Mindanao has a power deficiency of 248 megawatts. This prompted distribution utilities and electric cooperatives to undertake measures such as voluntary load curtailment, activation of the Interruptible Load Program and tapping of embedded modular generator sets. Several electric cooperatives would be implementing rotational brownouts, including Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative 2 is implementing a five-hour brownout per substation while Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative is implementing a five-hour brownout per feeder.
