ROXACO Land Corp. is hiring a veteran international hotel executive to manage Anya Resorts and Residences, its upcoming luxury project in breezy Tagaytay.
In a statement, the property development arm of listed firm Roxas & Co. Inc. said it has recruited international luxury hotel and resort executive Peter Lodovico D’souza as general manager of Anya.
Anya is set to open in the first quarter of this year.
Roxaco said the development features about 54 resort estates, 88 resort suites, and 126 luxury, full-service, branded residences with manicured gardens on top of a gently undulating terrain and amid a tranquil idyllic setting.
Roxaco said newly-hired D’souza has 17-years of experience in the hotel industry and has worked in several high-end accommodations around the world, such as India, Cambodia, Maldives, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The hotel executive’s career began when he was 18 years old, as he worked as a student trainee for a five-star resort in Goa, India. He then took on various housekeeping and service positions in top hotels brands in Abu Dhabi, including the Grand Continental Abu Dhabi.
“A five-year stint with the Jumeirah Group in Dubai allowed him to train at the famed seven-star Burj al Arab as a butler,” Roxaco said.
D’souza also worked with the Coco Collection Resorts, Retreats & Hotels Maldives, which involved helping prepare island resort properties in opening and implementing butler services.
His most recent post was as operations manager of the Anantara Hotels and Resorts in Cambodia.
Roxaco said D’souza was introduced to Anya through a former boss in the Maldives.
D’souza shared his optimism for his newly gained post, emphasizing the peaceful ambiance of the project.
“I’ve always wanted to be in a place that is very close to nature and away from the noise and pollution, “ D’souza said. “Cities like Dubai, where I used to work, can be physically and mentally taxing. I moved to Cambodia because it was more peaceful. From there, taking on the proposal to join Anya was an easy decision.”
Last October, Anya Resorts and Residences was included in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) listing, a group of luxury boutique hotels and resorts from around the globe.
The seven-hectare development is located on the quieter side of the Tagaytay-Calamba Road.
Its developer, Roxaco, co-created the successful Club Punta Fuego and the Terrazas at Punta Fuego communities.
