• Roxas vows to pursue ‘straight path’

INTERIOR and Local Governments Secretary Mar Roxas 2nd accepted Aquino’s endorsement of him as the Liberal Party’s standard bearer for the 2016 presidential election.
Roxas promised not to stray from the straight path.
“Buong loob kong tinatanggap ang tawag ng Daang Matuwid… Ako si Mar Roxas at tinatanggap ko ang hamon ng ating mga boss. Itutuloy at palalawakin ang daang matuwid,” Roxas said in his acceptance speech.
He devoted much of his time thanking the President for picking him as the party standard bearer in 2016, giving emphasis on Aquino’s strong political will and resolve to “hold on to what is right in the face of a formidable foe.”
“Hinding-hindi ako lilihis sa daang matuwid. Ibubuhos ko ang lahat at walang ititira para sa sarili ko. I will leave everything on the floor para sa labang ito,” vowed Roxas.
By being chosen as Aquino’s “replacement,” Roxas stressed that the obligation to look after the welfare of each of the 100 million Filipinos is being passed on to him.
“Mga boss, hindi ko sasayangin ang tiwala ninyo,” he further declared.

He returned Aquino the favor by describing the latter as a “president who sacrificed so much for the country and who sacrificed so much to inspire confidence.”
According to Roxas, he will not allow the names and legacies of his parents and elders to be in vain.
“Hinding-hindi ko dudumihan ang pangalan nila at lalong hinding-hindi ko dudumihan ang pangalan ninyo,” he told Aquino, who sat in front of him along with Senate President Franklin Drilon, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. and other congress leaders.

Also present during the “anointment” ceremonies were Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. and Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., who are identified with the so-called Samar faction in the Aquino Cabinet.

The Manila Times asked Coloma, and Palace spokesman Edwin Lacierda if the Samar and Balay factions have united in support of Roxas but none replied.

Besides party stalwarts and die hards, showbiz personalities also attended the “anointment”.

    1. Roxas promised not to stray from the straight path.

6 more years of that straight path plundering and shielding of the plunderers while everything falls apart will pretty much end the people’s chances of a better life.

    2. Then show the ‘TRANSPARENCY’ please consider the FOI bill as what the masses want now…..if promises are made to be broken, it is all be wasted…see to it that promises should be done accordingly and never hanging elsewhere…
