I WAS seriously thinking of calling it quits in revolutionary work. I believed I had done my best, devoting my time, energy, talent, what have you, to the revolution. My designation as Kasama secretary general had been seriously questioned by elements from the workers sector of the Manila-Rizal regional party committee for my being not actually a worker at the Makabayan Publishing Corp. at the time I was elected president of the union there but in fact a member of the management committee of the company. It just so happened that I initiated the formation of the union in order to arm the employees with an effective weapon for advancing their interests vis-à-vis the management and they chose to make me their leader.
