KA Jun was playing the piano that day in 1991 when I had a serious discussion with him regarding the virtual purge that Jose Maria Sison made in the ranks of the CPP and the NPA with the issuance of his “Reaffirm Our Basic Principles, Stand By Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tse Tung Thought.” I had learned that the NPA chief was adept at playing the instrument and so I bought one so that whenever he was in the house, he had something to divert his mind from the serious concerns of war.
